The man who opened fire from the roof of an apartment building in Murmansk never greeted or communicated with anyone. His neighbor told Izvestia about this on March 31.
"He was isolated, he never greeted, he didn't communicate with anyone. <...> He had no friends," the woman said.
She clarified that she was in contact with the man's mother, who admitted that her son had recently become addicted to alcohol and had not shown warm feelings for her.
"The mother complained [about him] all the time and suffered," the neighbor concluded.
Eyewitnesses reported shooting on the roof of an apartment building on Kola Avenue on March 30. Later, the information was confirmed by the governor of the Murmansk region, Andrey Chibis. The regional investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation reported that the man fired at least 58 shots and refused to enter into negotiations, as a result of which it was decided to neutralize him. There were no casualties as a result of the incident.
A criminal case was opened on the fact of an attempt on the life of law enforcement officers under Article 317 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. In addition, the regional investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation reported that the shooter is in critical condition.
