A local resident of Murmansk, who opened fire on the roof of an apartment building, fired at least 58 shots. This was reported on March 31 in the press service of the SU IC of Russia for the region.

"In total, the suspect fired at least 58 shots, there were no casualties," the department's Telegram channel said.

The shooter turned out to be a 43-year-old man with no previous criminal record. It is noted that he was detained and is under guard in a medical facility with head and hip wounds.

According to Izvestia, the man is in critical condition in intensive care. It is known that the attacker had a valid weapon permit.

Documents for a Vepr carbine and an IZH MP 27 shotgun, which were fired, were also seized in the suspect's apartment. In addition, the mobile device and laptop of the person involved in the case were confiscated.

Currently, investigative measures are continuing to establish the causes and motive of the incident.

Eyewitnesses reported a shooting on the roof of an apartment building in Murmansk the day before. Local media reported that an unknown person opened fire from a firearm from the roof of one of the houses on Kola Avenue. Later, information about the shooting was confirmed by the governor of the Murmansk region, Andrei Chibis.

Later, employees of the Murmansk "Wolverine" assembly and the "Bear" riot police of the Russian Guard neutralized the man who opened fire on the roof. A criminal case was opened on the fact of an attempt on the life of law enforcement officers under Article 317 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Encroachment on the life of a law enforcement officer").
