The Russian Foreign Ministry assessed the possibility of the return of European brands

European business expects that the Russian side will quickly "forget and forgive everything" against the background of the return of Western trade to the territory of the Russian Federation. This was announced by Kirill Logvinov, Director of the Department of International Organizations of the Russian Foreign Ministry, in an interview with TASS on March 31.

According to him, the West was convinced that the Russian side would allegedly not withstand the sanctions pressure and would allow European business to return, but on its terms.

"Secondly, and this is indeed the case, the Europeans continue to argue that our country, as has happened in history, will quickly forget and forgive everything," Logvinov said.

He also recalled that Russia has never hindered the implementation of trade in Russia for foreign countries. At the same time, Western economic operators deliberately left the market, the director of the department added. In addition, he clarified that he "would not erase from memory" the departure of European brands from the Russian market.

"From here, I am confident that our relevant decisions will be made on a case—by-case basis, individually and taking into account the interests of Russian manufacturers whose products have been able to replace their Western counterparts," Logvinov stressed.

Earlier, on March 28, Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), said that foreign companies were literally lining up to return to Russia to resume trading activities on its territory.
