Employees of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations together with Chinese rescuers in the city of Mandalay pulled a woman out from under the rubble, she lay there for more than two days. This was announced on March 30 by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations.
"The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, together with their Chinese colleagues, rescued a woman from the rubble who had been lying under piles of concrete for more than two days.<...> The rescue operation lasted 8 hours in the dark and risked her life," the Telegram channel said.
The ministry clarified that the victim was found under the rubble by search dogs of the cynological crew of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia. Work in the incident area is complicated by the large number of rubble of destroyed buildings, unstable structures and ongoing aftershocks, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation emphasized.
On March 28, two earthquakes of magnitude 7.7 and 6.4 were recorded in Myanmar. The epicenter of one of them was located 31 km northwest of the city of Mandalay, the death toll reached 1.7 thousand people, more than 3.4 thousand were injured, and 300 are missing.
Rescuers of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations began work on March 30 to eliminate the consequences of the earthquake in Myanmar.
