An earthquake of magnitude 6.1 was recorded off the coast of the Kingdom of Tonga in Oceania, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) reported on March 30.

According to data published on the organization's website, the earthquake occurred 83 km south-east of the city of Pangai on the islands of Haapai with a population of about 1.7 thousand people.

There was no information about the victims. The source was located at a depth of 10 km.

Earlier in the day, an earthquake of magnitude 7.1 was recorded off the coast of Tonga in Oceania. The US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration warned of the risk of a tsunami within a radius of 300 km from the epicenter of the earthquake.

Also on March 30, an earthquake of magnitude 5.1 occurred off the coast of Indonesia. The epicenter was located southeast of the city of Banda Aceh at a distance of 12 km.

On March 28, two earthquakes of magnitude 7.7 and 6.4 were recorded in Myanmar. The epicenter of one of them was 31 km away. The death toll reached 1.7 thousand people.
