Death toll in Bangkok earthquake rises to 13


The number of victims as a result of the earthquake in Thailand has increased to 13 people. This was reported by the newspaper Thairath on March 29.
According to the metropolitan Police, the most people — eight people — died as a result of the collapse of the Office of the Auditor General under construction in the north of Bangkok. A search and rescue operation is currently underway there.
According to the newspaper, at the moment it is known about 10 victims. Another 118 people are missing.
On March 28, two earthquakes of magnitude 7.7 and 6.4 occurred in Myanmar, neighboring Thailand. Subsequently, tremors were recorded in Bangkok and its surroundings, and later a state of emergency was declared in the city. The Russian Embassy in Thailand reported that it had not received information about Russians injured in the earthquake.
