An earthquake of magnitude 5.1 occurred near the capital of Myanmar. Information about it appeared on the website of the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) on March 29.
The epicenter was located 19 km southwest of Naypyidaw. The hearth was located at a depth of 10 km.
Earlier on March 29, it was reported that the death toll from the earthquake in Myanmar exceeded 1 thousand people, and another 2.4 thousand were injured. A state of emergency has been declared in the country in connection with the earthquake.
On March 28, two earthquakes of magnitude 7.7 and 6.4 were recorded in Myanmar. The epicenter of one of them was located 31 km northwest of the city of Mandalay, and the second was 19 km south of the city of Sagaing.
