- A Russian woman spoke about complaints about a sunken bathyscaphe in Hurghada back in 2017

The Sinbad sightseeing bathyscaphe in Egypt was in poor condition back in 2017. This was announced on March 28 by Russian tourist Alyona.
"My family and I went for a ride on the Sinbad bathyscaphe. And even though it was new — two or three years old, it was already patched up," she told RIA Novosti.
According to Alena, even 8 years ago, the seats on the ship were torn and scratched. In addition, there was no briefing before the walk and there were no safety vests.
The girl noted that the service was very skillfully advertised to tourists. However, the price did not match the quality, because the bathyscaphe was "barely breathing," and those on board were "afraid to even touch" anything so as not to break it, Alyona emphasized.
The crash of a bathyscaphe with Russians on board off the coast of Hurghada became known the day before. There were 45 Russian citizens on the ship. As a result of the incident, five tourists from Russia were killed, including two minors. The company Sharm Hurghada Excursions, which organized the tour, told Izvestia that the bathyscaphe had been in operation for about 10 years.
Prior to that, the Consulate General reported on the rescue of 38 Russians. Of these, 24 people were taken to hotels, the remaining 14 citizens were hospitalized.
