- The Russian Federation has developed a platform for automating the production of parts for satellites and cars

Russian scientists have developed a digital technology IT platform with the specific goal of designing, analyzing, and creating polymer products, including solar panels or satellite housings. As the authors themselves note, it is able to accelerate the production of complex polymer structures by 30% compared to conventional methods. The functionality of the platform will be developed gradually, and a prototype with 20% of the planned functions is planned to be released in mid-2025. At the same time, experts pointed out the key risks associated with the launch of this technology.
"The solution will allow creating digital twins, using AI in design, and tracking digital flows. The collected big data can be applied in all related industries. The main risk is that the platform may turn out to be ineffective if the rest of the existing processes are not configured to integrate with it," said Valery Sidorenko, director of the Interium Digital Agency and member of the Public Council of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation.
The platform can reduce the number of errors, make it possible to quickly change design approaches, and even help create completely new materials or products. However, according to Anton Averyanov, CEO of the ST IT group of companies, the difficulty lies in the fact that working with such a system will require time and certain knowledge. In addition, while the platform is at the prototype stage, its functionality is limited, and this can scare away those who want to get a ready-made solution right away.
