The governor of the Red Sea announced that the sunken bathyscaphe has a license.

The recreational bathyscaphe that crashed off the coast of Hurghada in Egypt had a valid license, and the ship's captain had the necessary qualifications. This was announced on March 27 by the governor of the Red Sea province, Amr Hanafi.

"The sunken bathyscaphe had a valid license, and the ship's captain has all the necessary qualifications. The causes of the accident are being investigated," the provincial press service quoted him as saying on its Facebook page (owned by Meta Corporation, which is recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).

Hanafi also spoke about continuing coordination and contacts with all embassies, consulates and interested authorities in order to ensure all conditions and arrange the necessary documents for the victims. The Governor highly appreciated the efforts and efficiency of the ambulance and rescue teams.

The Russian Consulate General in Hurghada reported on the crash of the bathyscaphe on the afternoon of March 27. There were 45 Russians on the ship. The company Sharm Hurghada Excursions, which organized the tour, told Izvestia that the bathyscaphe had been in operation for about 10 years.

Prior to that, the Consulate General reported on the rescue of 38 Russians. Of these, 24 people were taken to hotels, the remaining 14 citizens were hospitalized.

In an interview with Izvestia, Ekaterina, a tourist, told about the details of the incident. According to her, the water began to flow onto the Sinbad bathyscaphe almost immediately after the people were lowered onto the ship.
