Omsk hockey club Avangard defeated Metallurg on the road in the first round of the playoffs of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). The match took place on March 26 and ended with a score of 4:1.
According to Sport-Express, Semyon Chistyakov scored three points from the Omsk team. In turn, Nikolai Prokhorkin scored a goal and an assist. Konstantin Okulov and Damir Sharipzyanov also scored goals. Only Daniil Vovchenko scored a goal from Metallurg.
The second game of the team will be played on March 28 in Magnitogorsk.
Earlier, on March 17, it became known about the composition of the participants of the 2024-25 Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) playoffs, who will take part in the Gagarin Cup. Traktor, Salavat Yulaev, Metallurg, Avtomobilist, Ak Bars, Avangard, Admiral and Sibir will take to the ice in the Eastern Conference. The Western Conference will be represented by Lokomotiv, Dynamo Moscow, Spartak, CSKA, Dinamo Minsk, SKA, Severstal and Torpedo.
