Nikita Kucherov, a Russian forward for the Tampa Bay Lightning hockey club, reached the 100-point mark in the National Hockey League (NHL) regular season for the fifth time in his career.

The athlete scored a goal and two assists in the match against the Pittsburgh Penguins, which ended on March 26 with a score of 6:1 in favor of Tampa.

According to Sport-Express, Kucherov played 67 games this season and scored 101 (31 goals + 70 assists) points, setting a record for Russian hockey players in the number of seasons in which he reached 100. The Russian hockey player scored 100 or more points in the 2017/18, 2018/19, 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons.

The Tampa forward is a two—time Stanley Cup winner and twice the top scorer of the NHL regular season.

The National Hockey League's press service announced on March 14 that Kucherov and Washington forward Alexander Ovechkin were among the top ten contenders for the Hart Trophy, the NHL's most valuable player of the regular season. The Tampa forward finished fourth in the ranking with 30 points. Ovechkin and David Pastrniak of the Boston Bruins shared sixth place.
