Starting in April, it will be possible to apply for a preferential mortgage for secondary housing in settlements of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), where large-scale housing construction has not yet been launched. This was announced on March 26 by the head of the DPR Denis Pushilin.

"Since April 1, 35 municipalities of the republic have been included in the list of cities where preferential mortgages for secondary housing will be possible. These are Donetsk, Makeyevka, Avdiivka, Amvrosiivka, Artemovsk, Artemovo, Volnovakha, Yenakiyevo, Debaltseve, Yunokommunarovsk, Torez, Snezhnoye, Khartsyzsk, Shakhtersk, Kirovskoye, Zhdanovka, Zugres, Ilovaysk, Dokuchaevsk, Yasinovataya, Mospino, Komsomolskoye, Uglegorsk, Novoazovsk," he told the Donetsk News Agency (DAN).

Pushilin noted the high demand for housing in the region. According to him, this year there is an opportunity to start the construction of apartment buildings in the Donetsk-Makeyevka agglomeration, the head of the republic added.

Earlier on Wednesday, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, speaking in the State Duma with a report on the work of the government for the year, announced plans to develop preferential mortgage programs in the country. In addition, by the end of 2024, the Russian economy is growing for the second year in a row, outpacing the global average growth rate and significantly exceeding the indicators of European countries, he said.
