Hungarian MOL is interested in entering into new oil and gas projects in Russia. This was announced to journalists on March 26 by Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak.
"New projects have not been identified, but in general we are considering, including the expansion of cooperation between our countries in the energy sector," TASS quoted him as saying.
Novak said that there is already a joint project for the construction of a nuclear power plant, which is being implemented, as well as a mining project involving MOL.
The Deputy Prime Minister also added that Russia will explore various options and is positive about expanding cooperation, and MOL is ready to work in any direction. The Deputy Prime Minister noted that the Hungarian company is interested in those projects that other foreign corporations have withdrawn from.
Earlier, on March 26, the Russian government reported that gas supplies from Russia to Hungary reached a record 8.6 billion cubic meters. m in 2024.
