NATO will not decide to invite Ukraine to join the alliance in the near future. This was announced to journalists on March 26 by the head of the Polish Ministry of Defense, Vladislav Kosinyak-Kamysh.

"I don't think anyone will decide to send such an invitation in the foreseeable future, since it didn't come to that at the Washington summit," the head of the department stressed at a press conference broadcast by TVP Info.

British Foreign Minister David Lammy said last August that Kiev was "on an irreversible path" to accession. However, after the arrival of US President Donald Trump to the White House, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said that the issue of Ukraine joining the alliance was no longer on the agenda.

Later, on March 20, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that they did not want Ukraine to join NATO. He attributed this to the fact that the United States does not support this initiative.
