Russia's gross domestic product (GDP) exceeded 200 trillion rubles by the end of 2024. This was announced on March 26 by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin during a speech in the State Duma with the annual report on the work of the government.

According to him, last year's GDP growth was 4.1%, which is much higher than the average of developed countries. Mishustin called investment and consumer domestic demand the "engine of growth", pointing out that investments in fixed assets increased by almost 7.5% over the year.

"By the end of 2024, our GDP surpassed 200 trillion rubles in nominal terms for the first time," the Prime Minister noted.

He stressed that this success is the merit of citizens, labor collectives and many domestic companies, clarifies "Газета.Ru ".

Mishustin reported to Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 7 that the country's GDP had reached a historic high of 200 trillion rubles. He pointed out that GDP grew by 4.1% last year, which is 0.2% more than what was in the official forecasts. The Prime Minister cited high investment consumer activity as the reasons for the growth of the Russian economy.
