The State Duma assessed the need for direct negotiations with Ukraine

Russia and the United States are the main negotiators, and Ukraine will do what its "senior comrades" order it to do. Alexey Chepa, first deputy chairman of the State Duma's International Affairs committee, said this on Tuesday, March 25, when asked about the likelihood of direct talks between Moscow and Kiev.
"I don't see a significant need for negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, because the Americans are negotiating with Ukraine on a limited range of issues, and they probably introduce them to the issues that were discussed at the Russian-American meeting," the deputy said in an interview with Lenta.Ru .
Earlier on March 25, the White House reported that during negotiations in Riyadh, Russia and the United States agreed to ensure safe navigation, exclude the use of force and prevent the use of commercial vessels for military purposes in the Black Sea.
On the same day, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that first of all, issues of safe navigation in the Black Sea were discussed at the talks between the Russian and American delegations in Riyadh, according to the website. kp.ru .
The Minister noted that this is not the first attempt to discuss this topic. He recalled that the first one was undertaken in July 2022, when UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan agreed on a common package of agreements with representatives of Russian and Ukrainian structures.
