Russians named the right time to move away from their parents

On average, Russians start living separately from their parents at the age of 26. The majority, 41% of them, are moving into a rented apartment, according to the results of a survey conducted by Sberbank Insurance, which was reviewed by Izvestia on March 26.
A quarter of the respondents expressed the opinion that it is necessary to start living separately only when you have your own real estate. Another 15% are inclined to believe that it is worth moving away from parents immediately after receiving higher education, and 4% — immediately after coming of age. The same number, 4% of the survey participants, see the point of moving to their own or rented housing after the wedding. Another 3% stressed that this can be done until the family has its own children.
At the same time, 12% of Russians agreed that moving was unnecessary and that everyone should live together. Also, 22% of respondents believe that each situation is individual.
41% of the respondents who decided to live independently moved into rented housing. 36% of the survey participants returned to their own real estate or given to them by their parents, while another 7% noted that they had gone to their apartment, which they had bought with a mortgage. According to the survey results, young people from Tomsk, Irkutsk and Omsk are the earliest to start living separately from their parents — at the age of 24. Later than the others — Penza, Orenburg and Naberezhnye Chelny — at the age of 28.
At the same time, 76% of respondents consider a mortgage to be the most affordable option for a young family to get their own home, while 53% of them emphasized the value of financial assistance from their parents. 6% of respondents are inclined to save up for the purchase of their own housing without loans, while 5% are inclined to receive it from the state. 3% of Russians said that it is not necessary to acquire your own real estate and you can always live in a rented apartment or house.
Earlier, on February 5, it was reported that almost half of the Russians surveyed linked their plans in 2025 with the solution of the housing issue. One in eight (12%) plans to start saving and saving money to buy a home, 10% of respondents plan to sell an apartment, according to the results of a study by Level Group.
