Moscow and Minsk consider Germany's plans to suspend their membership in the Board of Trustees of the German Foundation for Memory, Responsibility and Future to be disrespectful to the countries and peoples affected by German fascism. The relevant statement was published on the website of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on March 24.

The foundation was created, among other things, with the support of the Russian and Belarusian sides in the interests of victims of Nazism from Central and Eastern European countries, including Russia, Belarus and Ukraine, the statement said.

"Under far—fetched pretexts, the foundation has questioned the continued participation of Russia and Belarus in its activities, as Russian and Belarusian representatives allegedly endanger the implementation of the Foundation's statutory goals, its interests and reputation, and even endanger the safety of persons involved in the implementation of the Foundation's projects," the document says.

It says that Moscow and Minsk consider it a disgrace and condemn the actions of the German side, which confirm the historical revisionism and politicization of the culture of memory that is progressing in the political elite of Germany.

Earlier, on March 21, on the ARD TV channel, the Prime Minister of Saxony, Michael Kretschmer, expressed hope for the resumption of cooperation between Russia and Germany. He is confident that without Russia it will not be possible to create safe conditions on the European continent.Газета.Ru ".
