Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) last night tried to strike at the Kropotkinskaya oil pumping station of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium in the Krasnodar Territory, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on March 24.

The attack was launched around 2:00 a.m., however, Russian air defense systems were able to intercept the enemy drone.

"As a result of air defense actions, a Ukrainian attack UAV was intercepted seven km from an international energy infrastructure facility with fragments falling near the Kavkazskaya railway station," the department's Telegram channel said.

The military stressed that contrary to the statements of Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky, which were also heard in Washington, Kiev "continues to deliberately plan, prepare and carry out attacks on energy infrastructure, including international ones, on the territory of the Russian Federation."

The military recalled that before that, the UAVS of the Armed Forces of Ukraine had attacked the Kropotkinskaya NPS on February 17. The facility was damaged, after which it was decommissioned for repairs.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said at a briefing on March 24 that Moscow was monitoring the situation with the attacks by the Ukrainian military on Russian energy facilities. He added that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue to adhere to the promise not to hit the energy infrastructure and follow the instructions of the Supreme Commander.

Also on March 22, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that if the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue attacks on Russian energy facilities, the Russian Federation reserves the right to respond.
