Russians talked about the use of AI in everyday life

Russians surveyed said they are constantly confronted with artificial intelligence (AI), including many who are passionate about smart home devices. This is stated in the results of the research conducted by the Aquarelle Research agency.
"It is obvious to them that it is used in voice assistants, generates images and processes photos, and is represented in chatbots by a wide variety of organizations (banks, mobile operators). Many respondents are actively interested in smart home devices: speakers, robot vacuum cleaners, light bulbs, and smart watches are clearly perceived as AI," the experts said.
At the same time, the respondents clarified that translators allow them to overcome the language barrier. Many people attributed autonomous transport to AI, and residents of Moscow noted payment systems in public transport and robot couriers.
"At the same time, it is noteworthy that search engines, maps, and recommendation systems (for example, movies or music) are not yet associated with AI. For the respondents, these are technologies that have existed for a very long time — even before the mass spread of AI, which means they do not rely on it," the analysts added.
Respondents see a number of advantages in the daily use of AI. So, they emphasized that artificial intelligence is capable of error–free processing of large amounts of data, opens up new horizons for travel - eliminates the language barrier. In addition, some believe that AI can be used to take care of a person: for example, set an alarm clock, remind them to take medications, or play with a child. Russians also believe that AI is able to help in emergency situations to call an ambulance, the police.
"Many people have concerns about the loss of jobs, but there is also hope that with the disappearance of old professions, new ones will appear – humanity has already experienced several waves of progress, and it will survive this one. Despite concerns about the opportunities that AI opens up to criminals (deepfakes, fraudulent schemes), people believe that any technology can be used both for good and for criminal purposes. At the same time, the ethics of using AI always remains on the conscience of the person using it," the experts added.
Earlier, on March 24, it was reported that 86% of the surveyed entrepreneurs use neural networks. Almost half turn to artificial intelligence several times a day. At the same time, 89% noted that neural networks help them work more efficiently. This is stated in the results of a study of the YUKASSA online and offline payment acceptance service.
