In Nizhnevartovsk, an apartment burned down due to an exploding portable battery. This was reported on March 23 in the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation.

"A resident of Nizhnevartovsk left the battery on charge overnight. The powerbank overheated and exploded. The fire spread instantly through the apartment," the agency said in a message on its Telegram channel.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations rescued six people from the fire, including a child. The fire was extinguished on an area of 21 sq. m.

Earlier that day, a fire broke out in a home appliance store in the Tsentralny shopping complex in Neftekamsk, Bashkortostan. Due to the increased fire rank, 40 employees of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations and 16 pieces of equipment were involved. It is noted that the open gorenje was eliminated, and a total of 265 people were evacuated.
