Information in Telegram channels about the allegedly upcoming funeral of ex-mayor of Samara Viktor Tarkhov and his wife is false. This was announced on March 21 by his close friend, former deputy mayor Alexander Kuznetsov.

According to widespread reports, friends of the former mayor are allegedly organizing funerals and farewell procedures. In turn, the lawyers allegedly collect documents to recognize the couple as deceased.

"This is a complete lie... I just can't give you the last name of this scoundrel (the organizer. Viktor Alexandrovich still has friends, we will bury him with honor and dignity," Kuznetsov said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

He shared that he had received calls asking about funeral arrangements, among other things. Kuznetsov also clarified that investigators had ruled out the possibility of holding a funeral while the investigation was ongoing. According to him, it is currently wrong to talk about this.

Ekaterina, the granddaughter of the ex-mayor, was arrested on suspicion of murder. It was established that she had been sending SMS messages from Tarkhov and his wife's phones for a month. She also started selling her grandparents' property using forged documents. According to the Izvestia source, Ekaterina claimed that Tarkhov and his wife had left the country.

According to one version, the granddaughter dismembered her relatives and gradually took the body fragments out of the house, taking them away by taxi. The Investigative Committee of Russia reported that the woman had purchased items to conceal the murder, among them chemical canisters and plastic containers.
