French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer are jointly trying to find alternatives to sending "peacekeepers" to Ukraine. This was reported by The Telegraph on March 20.

"Emmanuel Macron is actively exploring alternatives to the deployment of European troops in Ukraine — his plan was developed jointly with Sir Keir Starmer. The French president is considering the possibility of organizing a mission to protect the future peace agreement under the leadership of the United Nations," the newspaper writes.

Both politicians are leading efforts to form a "coalition of willing" NATO and European Union member states to form a "peacekeeping force" backed by U.S. security guarantees, the newspaper points out.

It is known that Macron discussed this topic with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres at the EU summit held on the same day. According to the newspaper, the British Air Force is also negotiating for its aircraft to patrol the skies over Ukraine as part of the Coalition of the Willing initiative.

On the same day, Macron announced a summit of the "coalition of the willing" with Zelensky on March 27. Earlier, on March 16, The Telegraph newspaper reported that the so-called coalition of the willing, consisting of Western countries, could not come to an agreement on sending troops to Ukraine after a possible settlement of the conflict. According to the newspaper, the allied group has not yet reached a specific agreement on peacekeeping forces on Ukrainian territory.
