Kellogg announced indirect talks between Russia and Ukraine in Saudi Arabia

U.S. officials plan to hold "indirect talks" between Moscow and Kiev during a meeting in Saudi Arabia to gain insight into the terms of both sides' cease-fire agreement. This was announced on March 20 by US President Donald Trump's special envoy for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg.
"We put what we call technical groups in the so—called indirect talks in Saudi Arabia, where both sides come and are received in separate rooms," he said in an interview with American journalist Glenn Beck.
According to the diplomat, this approach will help to take the first step towards resolving the Ukrainian crisis.
"You're basically telling [one side], 'OK, what are your terms?' You turn to the other side: "What are your conditions?" he clarified the principle of such "indirect negotiations."
On the same day, it became known that the Russian delegation at the talks with the United States on March 24 would not include representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. On March 19, White House Special Envoy Stephen Witkoff announced that Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin could meet in Saudi Arabia. He also expressed the opinion that a complete ceasefire in Ukraine could be achieved within "a couple of weeks."
