Russia condemns the resumption of Israeli airstrikes in Gaza and calls for the lifting of restrictions on humanitarian operations throughout the Occupied Palestinian Territory. This was stated on March 18 by Dmitry Polyansky, First Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations, at a meeting of the organization's Security Council on the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.

"We call on the Israeli authorities to immediately cease fire, as well as to lift restrictions on humanitarian operations throughout the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OPT), including the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. — Ed.)," the press service of the Russian Permanent Mission to the United Nations quotes him on its official website.

He also said that Russia strongly condemns the measures imposed by Israel, considering that their application is the main obstacle to "alleviating the suffering of two million Gazavitans." He also noted that the humanitarian crisis in the enclave has acquired "truly biblical proportions."

On March 18, the IDF announced the resumption of military operations against the Palestinian radical movement Hamas in Gaza. As a result of the Israeli airstrikes, more than 1,000 people were injured, and the death toll increased to 310. The media also said that Israel had warned the administration of US President Donald Trump in advance about the resumption of attacks on Gaza.
