Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Aleksadr Vulin said on March 15 that he did not rule out the possibility of arresting President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik by the military of the European Union (EU).

"If the plan of the Western services to unleash a civil war is implemented today, an attempt will be made to arrest Dodik in Banja Luka at night," Novosti newspaper quoted him as saying.

According to Vulin, attempts will be made to arrest Parliament Speaker Nenad Stevandic and Prime Minister Radovan Viskovic, among others, on a warrant from the court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

On March 16, the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina decided to detain Dodik and Viskovic. They are accused of allegedly encroaching on the constitutional order.

On February 26, a court in Bosnia and Herzegovina sentenced Dodik to a year in prison in absentia and banned him from political activity for six years. This decision can be appealed.

The Serbian publication Vreme reported on the same day that in June 2023, Dodik signed a decree according to which the decisions of the Constitutional Court of BiH were considered invalid on the territory of the Republika Srpska. As a result, in August of the same year, the President of the autonomy was criminally charged with disobeying the High Representative for BiH, Christian Schmidt, approved by the UN Security Council (SC).
