Vilfand predicted sub-zero temperatures in Moscow from March 17


In Moscow, from Monday, March 17, there will be a significant cold snap, at night the temperature may drop to -7 degrees. This was announced on March 15 by the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand.
"On Sunday, the temperature in Moscow at night will be -2... -4 degrees, in the region up to -7 degrees. <...> But on Monday there is already a noticeable decrease in temperature. The night temperatures on both Monday and Tuesday are quite noticeable — -4... -7 degrees, down to -8 degrees in the region," Vilfand said in an interview with Interfax.
He added that the daytime temperature on Monday will rise to a maximum of +1 degree, but only after 12 p.m. The wind may also increase to 17 m/s on this day. In addition, according to the forecaster, precipitation in the form of snow is forecast for the first three days of the week, and ice is possible on the roads.
Vilfand added that on Wednesday, March 19, negative temperatures will remain at night, up to a maximum of -5 degrees, but from Thursday, March 20, the temperature background will warm up to 0, and daytime temperatures will range from +4 to +9 degrees.
Yesterday, Vilfand announced that a significant drop in temperature and light frosts are expected in Moscow in the near future. Sunday may become the coldest day, when the night temperature in the capital can drop to -4, and in the region to -7.
