Cold snap in Moscow and Moscow region
In the capital, the first half of March pleased residents and tourists with warmth and sunshine, but from the middle of the month everything will change a lot. On Friday, March 14, it will be warm in Moscow up to +14 degrees, but a nine-point storm has already arrived in the capital, and after it the cold weather will return. As Evgeny Tishkovets, a leading specialist at the Phobos weather center, wrote on his Telegram channel, "on Saturday night, a slight focal snow may echo the outgoing cold atmospheric front <...>."
So, the air temperature in Moscow will drop to near-zero values on Saturday, frosts up to -2 degrees are possible in the Moscow region.
In the afternoon, due to the crest of the anticyclone, it will be cloudy with clarifications. Heavy precipitation is not expected, but short-term snow may fall in places in the south, Tishkovets clarifies.
Sunday will be partly cloudy, no precipitation is expected. During the day, the thermometer can rise to +6 degrees.
The cold days will continue next week. On Monday, snow is possible locally and the air temperature is near zero. The snowfall will continue on Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning. According to preliminary estimates, the snow cover will be temporary and no more than 0.3-0.8 cm high.
The weather will clear up in the middle of the coming week, and the warm March days will once again delight residents and guests of the capital.
Saint Petersburg and Leningrad region: what is the weather like in the coming days
St. Petersburg is known for changeable weather, which will be especially noticeable this weekend. On Friday, March 14, it will snow, and the air temperature will drop to negative values. On Saturday, precipitation will stop, but not for long — on Sunday, the sky will be covered with dense clouds, bringing new snowfalls and gusty winds to the northern capital.
The air temperature will return to the climatic norm.
On Monday, precipitation in St. Petersburg will stop, but a cold snap is expected. The thermometer will show from -2 to 0 degrees.
Weather in Crimea and Sochi
Unstable weather is also expected in the southern cities of Russia in the coming days, which will be accompanied by night rains and gusty winds.

So, if real summer temperatures remain in Sochi at the weekend, up to +23 degrees during the day, but a cold snap is expected there starting on Monday. On Wednesday, the air temperature may drop to +8 degrees in the afternoon and rains will begin.
A similar situation will develop in Sevastopol. It will be up to 18 degrees Celsius in the city until Sunday, and on Monday the thermometer will show +11 degrees. On Tuesday, March 18, the air temperature may drop to +3 degrees in the afternoon. It will be cloudy and light rains are possible. It will warm up to +11 in Sevastopol by the end of next week.
Where in Russia will snow fall again
According to Evgeny Tishkovets, this Saturday the snow cover will form anew in the south-west and south-Central Russia.
The most difficult weather conditions on Saturday, March 15, in the form of heavy rainfall and sleet are expected in the European part of Russia.
"Bryansk, Oryol, Kaluga, Tula, as well as the southern regions of the Smolensk and Moscow regions will be in the snowy weather zone. By evening, the Ryazan, Lipetsk, Tambov regions, Mordovia, Udmurtia and Mari El will be added to them," the forecaster writes.
According to him, snow cover up to 3-8 cm high may form again there.
