Vilfand predicted the return of light frosts in Moscow

A significant drop in temperature and light frosts are expected in Moscow in the near future. This was announced by the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand on Friday, March 14.
According to the forecaster, a cyclone will pass through the capital from March 14: it will rain, the wind will increase, air masses will flow from the northwest, and the temperature will drop by 10 degrees for only one day.
"That's why there's such a sharp decline. Night temperatures in the coming nights will already be negative in the capital — from -2 to -5 degrees. On Sunday — -2...-4 at night in Moscow, in the region — up to -7. On Monday and Tuesday -4...-7 temperature, that is, light frosts are returning. On Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon, the temperature will be positive — +3...+5 degrees, and on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday — about 0," Vilfand said in an interview with Lenta.Ru adding that such a temperature background is close to the usual values.
According to the expert, a sharp increase in temperature is not predicted in the second half of the week, but night temperatures on Thursday, March 20, will already be around 0, and in the afternoon about 5-6 degrees Celsius. From Friday to Sunday, from March 21 to March 23, the night temperature will also be close to zero, and during the day it will be about +6...+8 degrees.
In turn, Alexander Shuvalov, head of the Meteo forecasting center, told NSN that a cold snap with snow would come to the capital at the beginning of next week, and frosts would be on the weekend, but it would warm up again by March 20.
Earlier in the day, the Hydrometeorological Center warned that it would be cloudy, with light, sometimes moderate rain — such weather awaits residents of the capital region on Friday. A westerly wind is expected with a speed of 7-12 m/s, gusts of up to 22 m/s are possible.
