The Accounting Chamber of the Russian Federation returned 95.9 billion rubles to the budget in 2024

Chairman of the Accounting Chamber of Russia Boris Kovalchuk said on March 13 that the audit body returned 95.9 billion rubles to budgets of all levels in 2024, which was a record.

"During the reporting year, the achieved economic effect amounted to 148.9 billion rubles. Of these, 95.9 billion rubles are direct refunds to budgets of all levels, which were carried out by the Accounting Chamber. This has become a record in our 30-year history," he said at a meeting of the Federation Council Committee on Budget and Financial Markets.

Kovalchuk also said that from 2017 to 2023, the total amount of refunds amounted to 88 billion rubles.

In addition, the Chairman of the Accounts Chamber added that during the year the authority issued 239 submissions and orders. Of these, 74 materials were sent to law enforcement agencies, 21 criminal cases were initiated, 73 people were brought to administrative responsibility, and the amount of accrued administrative fines exceeded 100 million rubles.

On the same day, Kovalchuk announced that the Accounts Chamber had completed all the tasks set for 2024. He said that 38 inspections were conducted in the reporting year, directly related to the implementation of the necessary goals. During the reporting year, 4,706 violations were detected in the public procurement process.
