On March 13, Boris Kovalchuk, Chairman of the Accounting Chamber of Russia, presented a report on the results of the department's work for 2024. According to him, all the tasks were completed.

"All the tasks that were set by the head of state and the Federal Assembly, the Accounting Chamber have been completed. All the events planned for the reporting year have been carried out," said the Chairman of the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation.

He said that in the reporting year, the Accounting Chamber conducted 38 inspections directly related to the implementation of the necessary tasks.

"We have also started executing the instructions of the head of state to analyze the results of the implementation of national projects for the period 2019-2024. This work is carried out in our country as part of a separate expert and analytical event, and the Accounts Chamber pays special attention to this audit, of course," he said at a meeting of the Federation Council Committee on Budget and Financial Markets.

Kovalchuk noted that 113 events are planned for the current year. Currently, an assessment of the effectiveness of spending on the purchase of domestic technologies, equipment and materials within the framework of national projects is underway. The analysis revealed the presence of foreign components in products manufactured in Russia.

"In the reporting year, the tasks related to the conduct of a special military operation (SVO) were analyzed in the most careful way. We keep issues related to the supply of military equipment and various weapons with the support and provision of our military personnel, with the organization of rehabilitation and social protection under special control," said the Chairman of the Accounting Chamber.

In addition, Kovalchuk reported on the assessment of the effectiveness of using budgetary resources for the scientific and technological development of the country. The results of the analysis showed that an effective system of interaction between science, technology and production has not yet been fully formed. Shortcomings in the regulatory framework and the lack of indicators in strategic documents reflecting achievements in the field of scientific and technological progress were also noted.

In addition, the Chairman of the Accounts Chamber stated that 4,706 violations in the public procurement process were detected during the reporting year. The total amount exceeded 1 trillion 150 billion rubles.

On January 14, Kovalchuk stated that the Russian Joint Venture plays an important role in the international professional community of state auditors. According to him, the BRICS association has become a promising format for organizing such work.
