The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Georgy Tikhy, admitted on March 12 that "difficult compromises" had been made during the negotiations between Kiev and Washington, which took place the day before in the city of Jeddah in Saudi Arabia.

"It is in these last hours of the endgame, when fatigue is already making itself felt, suddenly it becomes possible to break the deadlock and even difficult compromises," he wrote on Facebook (owned by the recognized extremist Meta company, its activities are banned in the Russian Federation).

In the publication, he also noted the long duration of the negotiations. According to him, they walked for more than eight hours in total. In addition, the ability to control emotions has become a key task for negotiators, Tikhy added.

On March 11, Ukraine expressed its readiness for a 30-day ceasefire during negotiations with the United States. On the same day, US President Donald Trump announced that he intended to obtain the consent of Russian leader Vladimir Putin for a cease-fire in Ukraine. He stressed that he was going to have a conversation with the Russian president this week. According to Trump, representatives of the countries will meet next week to discuss the Ukrainian conflict.
