The daily heat record was updated in Moscow by 12:00 on Wednesday, March 12 — the air in the capital had warmed up to +9.5 degrees by this time. Mikhail Leus, a leading specialist at the Phobos weather center, reported this on his Telegram channel.

"By noon, the air temperature, according to the base weather station of the megalopolis, VDNKh, rose to +9.5 degrees, which is 0.3 degrees higher than the previous achievement of this day, set in 2002," the Moscow City News agency quotes the forecaster.

The final value of the new record will be known after 21:00.

The previous record temperature for this day was +9.2 degrees, RIAMO said.

Earlier in the day, Alexander Shuvalov, head of the Meteo forecasting center, told RT about the cold snap that will come to the capital and the Moscow region over the weekend.

In turn, Alexander Ilyin, a forecaster at the Meteo center, predicted precipitation in the form of rain in Moscow until the weekend. The specialist noted that the temperature in the city will be between +2 and +5 degrees until the end of the week. Precipitation in the city will continue until Saturday, although it will be very small and intermittent.
