- Wilfand predicted a rise in temperature in Siberia and the Urals by the end of the week

Temperatures in the Urals and Siberia are expected to rise by an average of 25 degrees by the end of the week. This was announced on March 12 by the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia Roman Vilfand.
"In the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District and Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug on March 12-13, the temperature will be 7-13 degrees below normal, the values will be in the range of 25-35 degrees below zero, but by the end of this week a noticeable increase is expected and the temperature will be about -10 degrees. <...> In general, a temperature increase of 25 degrees will occur in the Urals and Siberia," he said in an interview with TASS.
Vilfand said that at the beginning of the week, temperatures in the southwest of the Siberian Federal District are forecast to average 6-9 degrees below normal. At the same time, by the weekend it will rise and will be from -6 to -1 degrees at night, and from 0 to +3 degrees during the day. According to the forecaster, this is due to the movement of warm air masses from the west.
In addition, Vilfand added that throughout the week in Chukotka and the Kamchatka Territory, the thermometer will show values of 5-13 degrees below normal. It will be around -35 degrees in these regions, he added.
On March 9, the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia reported that the weather in the European part of Russia in March was three to four degrees above normal. He clarified that the lack of snow affects this: if the ground were covered with even a small cover, the temperature would drop.
