Le Figaro learned about Macron's call to create a security guarantee plan for Kiev

Against the background of negotiations between representatives of Ukraine and the United States in Jeddah, French President Emmanuel Macron called on the heads of the general staffs of the EU member states and a number of other states to begin developing a plan to provide Kiev with security guarantees. This was reported on March 11 by the newspaper Le Figaro with reference to the Elysee Palace.
"Against the background of accelerating peace talks, Macron clarified that today it is necessary to move from a concept to a plan in order to identify reliable security guarantees so that lasting and lasting peace is possible in Ukraine," the publication says.
In addition, Macron, on the social network X (formerly Twitter), welcomed Ukraine's agreement to accept Washington's proposal for a 30-day ceasefire. According to him, Paris and its partners are committed to the goal of concluding a lasting and long-term peace.
The White House called the meeting of the Kiev and Washington delegations productive and described the news from Jeddah as positive. The American leader Donald Trump expressed hope for obtaining consent from Russian President Vladimir Putin for a cease-fire in Ukraine. He noted that he plans to have a conversation with the Russian leader this week.
