NATO Secretary General to meet with Trump at the White House on March 13


NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte will visit Washington on March 12-14, during which he will hold a working meeting with American Leader Donald Trump at the White House. This was announced on March 11 on the website of the North Atlantic Alliance.
"On March 12-14, 2025, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte will visit Washington, DC. On March 13, the Secretary General will meet with US President Donald Trump at the White House," the military bloc said in a statement.
It is specified that Rutte will also meet with senior officials of the American administration and Congress.
On March 6, Rutte announced that the United States would not withdraw from NATO. According to him, the transatlantic partnership remains the foundation of the alliance, and Washington has "clearly confirmed its commitment" to the military bloc. On the same day, Trump questioned the readiness of NATO countries to come to the aid of the United States. The American leader stressed that until now, the United States has almost fully provided for the costs of the bloc.
