"Russia and the United States have requested urgent closed—door consultations of the UN Security Council in connection with violence against civilians in Western Syria," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

Polyansky noted that Moscow expects consultations to be scheduled for March 10 at 17:00 Moscow time.
