With the coming to power of US President Donald Trump, the collective West ceased to exist, and the rules-based order no longer applies. This was announced on March 9 by Brazilian journalist Pepe Escobar on the YouTube channel Dialogue Works.

"The collective West no longer exists. The collective West is now dead. <...> There is no longer the rules-based international order that was promoted by the dead collective West before January (the month when Trump's inauguration took place. — Ed.)," Escobar said.

The journalist drew attention to the fact that Trump is masterfully able to "sow chaos," and sometimes he doesn't even have a further strategy for the development of events — he improvises. At the same time, many of the ideas of the American president are completely clear, at least to himself.

The American newspaper The New York Times reported on March 8 that Trump had abandoned allied relations with Europe, and this was destroying the idea of a collective West — it had become empty. This state of affairs, as noted by the publication, is shocking to Europeans.

In addition, on March 3, the American newspaper The Washington Post drew attention to the fact that the altercation between Trump and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, which took place in the White House on February 28, led to the collapse of the collective West. The publication noted that the split in relations between Washington and Europe demonstrates the world's transition to a new era.
