In the United States, Boeing-led specialists have completed the construction of 20 new mines for the U.S. missile defense system at Fort Greeley, Alaska. This was reported on March 5 by the Defense News portal.

"Boeing recently announced that it has officially installed the 'first of 20 additional' silos for the Ground-Based Midcourse Defense system, which is more than 20 years old," the material says.

Thus, the number of missiles that the United States can deploy in Alaska has increased from 40 to 60.

It is specified that work on expanding missile defense arsenals in the region began during the first term of US President Donald Trump and continued under the administration of Joe Biden.

On March 7, Russian Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov pointed out the need for dialogue between Russia and the United States on arms control. Earlier in the day, it was reported that Trump intends to start a dialogue with Moscow and Beijing in order to get rid of nuclear weapons.
