Hamas announced positive signals regarding the second stage of negotiations on Gaza

Hamas spokesman Abdel Latif Al-Kana said that the efforts of the mediators to finalize the ceasefire agreement in Gaza are continuing and there are positive signs. This was reported on March 8 by Al Arabi.

"The efforts of the Egyptian and Qatari mediators to finalize the ceasefire agreement are continuing," he said.

Abdel Latif Al-Kana stressed that there are also positive signs of the start of the second stage of negotiations.

Phase two shift: Israel and Hamas plan to extend truce deal

At the same time, Tel Aviv refuses to fulfill one of the key conditions of the first stage of the agreements.

On March 2, Hamas expressed disagreement over the extension of the first phase of the agreement with Israel on the cessation of hostilities in the Gaza Strip. In addition, the representative of the movement clarified that the hostages will be released only if all the original terms of the agreement are fulfilled as stipulated in the contract.
