Mikhail Leus, a leading specialist at the Phobos Weather center, said that record warm weather was recorded in Moscow on March 8 in the entire history of meteorological observations in the city.

"As expected, today at 14:00 the air in the capital, according to the base weather station of the VDNKH megacity, warmed up to +10.1 degrees, which is 1.5 degrees higher than the previous daily record of this day, set in 2020," he wrote in his Telegram channel.

Leus added that the exact value of the new record will be known after 21:00.

The scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, Roman Vilfand, predicted warming in the capital at the beginning of the month on March 1. According to him, the temperature will rise to +3 degrees during the day. However, at the end of February, the weather forecaster warned that March was a winter month according to meteorological characteristics. As Vilfand specified, the average March temperature will be negative.
