At a young age, it is worth instilling habits that will help avoid a number of diseases or delay their occurrence, which will positively affect the quality of life. Endocrinologist, specialist in anti-aging medicine, expert of the social project "Dementia.net" Natalia Sevastyanova told Izvestia on March 9 that women need to keep the focus of control on seven health domains in order to prevent premature aging and the development of chronic diseases.

According to her, if women "invest" their attention, time and resources in each of these areas, they will increase their chances of healthy longevity.

The first domain is psychological. It's all about self-awareness, goals, self-worth, and emotions. If a person does not know how to set personal boundaries, has low self-esteem, cannot define goals in life, and does not live his emotions ecologically, then this can cause problems in other health domains. For example, psychosomatic pathologies have their roots in problems with the psychological domain.

Personality disorders and dementia can result from serious impairments in the cognitive domain. He is responsible for the ability to learn quickly, focus on processes, and navigate in space. All this gives a person competitiveness in society, which becomes more relevant with increasing life expectancy, the expert said. The rapid pace of modern life dictates the need to be effective not only in your 20s or 30s, but also in your 50s, 60s, and older ages.

The third domain is sensory, it is responsible for feelings and communication with the outside world, the doctor said. If there is a decrease in hearing and visual acuity, which often happens with age, then the brain processes less information. This, in turn, affects our health.

"Sensory deprivation, that is, the restriction of external signals for a long time, can lead to depressive and subdepressive states. Therefore, any sensory deficits need to be corrected — hearing aids, glasses or, in some cases, surgical interventions can help," Sevastyanova said.

Next, the doctor noted the motor domain. This is how well the muscles know and perform the functions inherent in nature. In addition, the amount of muscle mass decreases with age — the peak of muscle mass occurs at 25-30 years. And if after this age a person does not "invest" in muscles, in physical activity, then he will inevitably face sarcopenia — loss of muscle mass and decreased muscle functionality. First of all, it affects the appearance — it worsens the quality of the body, the body is perceived to be less elastic externally. But if at first it does not carry any vital threat, then later, at an older age, sarcopenia increases the risk of falls due to balance disorders and, consequently, injuries such as bruises and fractures.

Sevastyanova stressed that it is necessary to "invest" in muscles for the reason that during physical exertion, exercise substances are produced. They can be compared to "biorobots" that correct current errors in the body and actually rejuvenate it.

"The motor domain is our physical activity. It is important to maximize the use of muscles for movement, because that is what nature created them for. Unfortunately, not everyone performs 10,000 recommended steps per day. If your truth of life is 2-3 thousand steps, then due to lack of movement, the body is in a state of chronic hypoxia. It is difficult to talk about health and high quality of life in such a situation," the expert added.

The next domain is somatic, which is the state of the body's organs and tissues, its physical health and functionality. To maintain health at this level, it is necessary to undergo regular medical examinations in order to detect deviations in the "system" in time and "adjust" them, Sevastyanova explained.

The vital domain is how well a person has provided the body with macronutrients (proteins, fats, carbohydrates) and micronutrients (vitamins, minerals, fiber).

"If we live the life of a person in a big city and suffer from physical inactivity, it is not uncommon, especially for women, to reduce their diet in order not to gain weight. This leads to insufficient intake of necessary substances into the body — as a result, many biochemical reactions in the body are "infringed" and can no longer proceed in full and correctly. Therefore, in such a situation, it is especially important to compensate for the deficiency of micronutrients from the outside and monitor the balance of the diet," said the endocrinologist.

She also highlighted the sexual domain. According to the expert, it is a marker of how effectively all other domains work. When a person is sick and the body is uncomfortable, it is unlikely that a person will find the strength and time for intimacy. Therefore, for a harmonious and healthy sexual life, it is important not to experience health problems at all other levels, the doctor concluded.

Earlier, on March 5, Elena Aleksentseva, a pediatrician at Invitro-Voronezh, told Izvestia that following the daily routine is a key factor in maintaining a person's physical and mental health. A well-organized routine significantly improves the functioning of the nervous system, optimizes the functioning of internal organs, improves sleep quality and increases the efficiency of time allocation.
