On March 6, Latvian Interior Minister Richard Kozlovskis called on the states of the European Union (EU) to stop issuing Schengen tourist visas to Russian citizens.

He noted that this practice negatively affects the work of law enforcement agencies both on the Latvian-Russian border and inside the country.

"Therefore, he [Kozlovskis] called on all EU member states to seriously realize the danger, considering it a moral duty to refuse such a service," the publication says href="https://rus.delfi.lv/57860/latvia/120063809/kozlovskis-prizyvaet-strany-es-prekratit-vydachu-shengenskih-turisticheskih-viz-grazhdanam-rossii " target="_blank">Delfi.

On February 22 in Latvia, a group of deputies from the New Unity party submitted amendments to the Law on Tourism to the Seimas (Parliament), prohibiting organized trips to Russia and Belarus. The state also has the right to restrict such business activities.
