In Krasnoyarsk, a court sentenced a driver who entered a hypermarket to a year in prison.

The court confiscated a car worth 1 million rubles that entered the hypermarket and sentenced a resident of Krasnoyarsk to a year in prison for drunk driving. This was announced on March 6 by the Prosecutor's office of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

It is specified that in August 2024, the 37-year-old drunk owner of a BMW X5 lost control and crashed into the building of a shopping complex on Yastynskaya Street.

At the same time, the driver already had an outstanding criminal record at the time of the incident.

"In 2018, after a "drunken" ride, the court sentenced him to nine months in a penal colony for violating traffic rules that caused serious injury to a person," the press service informed in the Telegram channel of the department.

The court found him guilty under Part 2 of Article 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Driving while intoxicated by a person with a criminal record") and sentenced him to a year in a penal colony.

The department also added that the man will not be able to drive vehicles for two years.

On March 5, two cars and a truck collided on the Shadrinsk–Yalutorovsk highway in the Tyumen region, resulting in six people were injured. The Suzuki driver could not maintain a safe distance, the car drove into the Lada.
