On February 26, a 61-year-old kindergarten teacher was hit by People's Artist of the Russian Federation Alexander Buinov in his foreign car. It all happened when a woman was crossing the road at a pedestrian crossing in Aprelevka, Moscow region.

"I was thrown back by the impact," the victim recalled in an interview with Izvestia. — People came running because there was a time when people were coming home from work, taking their children from kindergarten. I was strictly walking along the pedestrian crossing. I am an obedient citizen and I cross the road only by crossing. He knocked me down, after a certain period of time, maybe two minutes passed, he came out, saw that I was lying down, and left. What could threaten Alexander Buinov for an accident

The consequences for the People's Artist will depend on the severity of the injury to the health of the victim in an accident involving him, explained Evgeny Rosenblat, lawyer at the Moscow Bar Association Aronov & Partners, head of the practice of complex litigation.

— Mr. Buinov's liability can be both administrative and criminal, depending on the consequences. But first it must be established that he really violated the rules of the roadI or the rules of operation [of the car]," the expert explained.

In case of minor and moderate harm to health, administrative liability arises in the form of a fine or deprivation of the right to drive a vehicle for a certain period of time. In case of serious harm to health, the person responsible for the accident may face time.

— If serious harm is caused to health, then responsibility comes under part 1 of art. 264 of the Criminal Code. The sanctions provide for various types of punishment, up to imprisonment for up to two years, with or without deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years," said Evgeny Rosenblat.
