The average age of a car in Russia has been named


The average age of a foreign car is 13 years, and the average age of a domestic car is 17 years. Lada is the most popular brand in Russia, with more than 12.35 million cars registered. The average age of passenger cars of the Russian brand is 17 years. Toyota is the second largest brand in the country's fleet and the leader among foreign cars — almost 4 million units. The average age of cars of this brand is 16.5 years.
The Magadan region has the oldest fleet of passenger cars — the average age of the car exceeds 20 years. The second place is occupied by the Jewish Autonomous Region. The average age there is close to 20 years. The Trans-Baikal Territory (19.4 years old) and Buryatia (19.3 years old) came in third and fourth places with a small gap. The Kamchatka Territory took the fifth place (19.2 years old).
On March 4, Izvestia reviewed the data of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation on new passenger car sales in January–February 2025 in Russia. They amounted to 165.9 thousand units, which is 10% less than in the same period last year. Separately, 77.3 thousand new passenger cars were sold in February, which is 25% less year-on-year.
