The American leader Donald Trump has set a record for the longest presidential speech addressed to the houses of Congress USA. This was reported on March 5 by the newspaper The Wall Street Journal (WSJ).
It is noted that the president spoke for about 1 hour and 39 minutes. Trump's previous longest speech to Congress lasted 1 hour and 22 minutes, it was in 2019, the newspaper writes.
According to the WSJ, the second longest speech in 2000 was delivered by former United States leader Bill Clinton - 1 hour and 29 minutes.
On the night of March 5, Moscow time (on the evening of March 4, Washington time) Trump spoke in front of both houses of Congress. In his speech, he touched upon issues of domestic and foreign policy, and devoted part of his speech to the issue of ending the conflict on Ukraine.
