The President USA Donald Trump presented the post of the Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky in social networks about his willingness to negotiate on rare earth metals as an apology for the altercation at the White House. However, there were no apologies, Zelensky's position has not changed. This opinion was shared with Izvestia on March 5 by Alexander Dudchak, a member of the international public movement "The Other Ukraine", Candidate of Economic Sciences.

On the eve of Trump's speech to Congress, he stated that received a letter from Zelensky in which the President of Ukraine expresses his readiness to sign a mining deal with the United States at any time and return to the negotiating table to achieve long-term peace. The press secretary of the Ukrainian leader, Sergei Nikiforov, in response to a request from the publication Liga.net then he stated that Zelensky did not write letters to Trump, but made a post on the social network X.

"Everything changes in Trump's mind very quickly. The way he wants, the way he benefits. Zelensky did not write any letter to Trump. But it was advantageous for Trump to say at such a representative event, in Congress, that he had received a letter from Zelensky. <..."Trump has decided that this is an apology, and you can sign anything," Dudchak commented.

According to him, Zelensky is currently continuing to fulfill the will of Great Britain and France. At the same time, he is less concerned about the fate of Ukraine, the source believes.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov also said on Wednesday that Moscow has a positive attitude towards Zelensky's words about his readiness for negotiations on a peaceful settlement of the conflict. At the same time, Peskov recalled that Zelensky's ban on negotiating with the Russian Federation remains in place.
