Szijjarto pointed to the EC's violation of Hungary's energy security guarantees

According to Szijjarto, Brussels has committed to hold talks on resuming transit of Russian gas through the territory of Ukraine with the participation of the Hungarian side, however, this did not happen.
Another guarantee of the EC was the promise that Ukraine would not attack the infrastructure responsible for energy supplies to the European Union (EU), he said."To our deep regret, on the night of February 28, Ukraine carried out a drone attack on the Russian compressor station of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline," the Hungarian Foreign Minister said, adding that the safety of the pipeline is crucial for gas supplies to the country.
Szijjarto warned that now, when making decisions regarding the Ukrainian side, Hungary will focus on the issues raised in this letter.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on the night of February 28 committed an attempted attack by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) on a station in the Krasnodar Territory providing gas supply via the Turkish Stream. All the drones were shot down. The station supplies gas normally.
Later, Lavrov during a telephone conversation with Szijjarto discussed Kiev's attempt to commit a terrorist attack on the infrastructure of the Turkish Stream. He provided the Hungarian side with the necessary clarifications.
Prior to that, on January 27, Callas officially confirmed the extension of anti-Russian sanctions for six months. In turn, Szijjarto said that Budapest had received from the EC the required energy security guarantees, without which he refused to extend sanctions against Russia
At the same time, the Hungarian Minister after a telephone conversation with the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Turkey Alparslan Bayraktar stated that Hungary and Turkey Kiev attacks considered unacceptable to the Turkish Stream pipeline. Szijjarto recalled that the Turkish Stream plays an important role in providing the country with natural gas. On January 18, he announced that Hungary had received 7.6 billion cubic meters of natural gas, which is an absolute record.
